Iloilo must go

The failure of this man to discipline Bainimarama for his public criticisms of government policies escalated a preventable situation to the events that lead to December 5th. As commander in chief of the military it was his direct responsibility to keep Bainimarama in line, which he clearly failed to do. Despite the illegality of the December 5th coup, he decided to accept Bainimarama's appointment to be President under the new thug administration. Ratu Joni Madraiwiwi was honourable enough to hand in his resignation and disassociate himself from the thugs.

Here is a medically fragile man holding an important office of power which he clearly cannot serve. With all due respect to him and his people, he is now nothing but a puppet of the thug administration and a burden to the tax paying citizens of our beloved country. It is now due time for the GCC to appoint a new president who can actually serve in this position and stand firmly by the rule of law. Ratu Joni is the ideal candidate for this position.
